Beaulieu Wielsbeke & Oostrozebeke

Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.) is a global specialist in polymers, semi-finished engineered solutions and a broad range of floor coverings for the residential and commercial markets as well as upholstery fabrics.

For their facility in Wielsbeke, part of B.I.G. Floorcoverings (Beauflor), GreenPulse has constructed and operates a 1 MWp PV solar plant. For their site in Oostrozebeke, part of Beaulieu Needle Felt, GreenPulse constructed and operates a PV solar installation of 1,5 MWp.

Challenge

The saying “every challenge is an opportunity to learn” definitely applies to the projects we realized at Beaulieu Wielsbeke and Oostrozebeke. Projects that at one point were “dead and buried” because of stability issues of the roofs, was reanimated by GreenPulse’s engineering superiority.

Solution

Using a double rail customized Safed mounting structure In Wielsbeke, ballasted on very specific points, we were able to keep the average weight below 15 kg/m². For Oostrozeke we opted for a North-South orientation and drove down the so-called “Levelized Cost of Energy” (LCOE) by putting more panels relative to the number of inverters.
